The Morris men from Ashdown Forest visited us on 1st May as part of their scheduled annual performances for schools. The pupils were able to next years performance.
The primary pupils received a visit from the police at the beginning of April, as part of their to the police for their wonderful visit.
As part of our PE curriculum, some of the classes have had the opportunity to repeat the trip in future.
On Thursday 21st March, we hosted a visit of 18 teachers from Iceland. They had come to visit the school to learn more about ABA and communication methods. They got time to observe classes, speak to staff and had a more formal training session with Faye and Bekah. Their visit ended with a ceilidh dance …
The pupils continued with their ‘People Who Help us’ to the local fire service, your visit was much appreciated.
On Thursday 14th March, pupils to everyone for their generosity and the curriculum team for organising. Keep dancing!
As part of their ‘Jobs and People who help us’ to be medical staff and ask questions about a paramedics job. All pupils were able to ride in an ambuilance in future but if they do, hopefully they will be less anxious about this.

For World Book Day, our pupils had the opportunity to Crawley this month. During the bear hunt, there was lots of squelching, splashing, clapping and singing. Well done to all the pupils for their participation.
Last week we had our first visit from Ben, a trained autism therapy dog. Ben was a great hit with pupils (and staff) and visited both classrooms and was available outside for pupils tor and that he can work his magic with some of the pupils who are anxious around dogs as well as those that …
The school hosted it’s first Step By Step Research Conference in January 2019. Staff actively engaged in research, were able to attend or present, please contact Faye, our Teacher in Charge.
During 2018, we recycled an incredible 375 kg of paper. This means we’ve helped save more than 11,000 litres of water, 1300 kilowatts of electricity and no less than 6 trees! Not tonne of carbon dioxide!
Staff and pupils wore their Christmas jumpers to wear them again on Tuesday 18th December, where we invited families in for refreshments and activities in the classrooms.
On Monday 3rd January, all the pupils visited the Llama Park to Zoe for organising and all the staff for making the visits so memorable.

The Step by Step pupils had a fantastic week baking 134 Pudsey bear biscuits for a special sale in aid of BBC Children in Need. The bear shaped biscuits were made by secondary pupils and were sold throughout the school during lunchtime. The sale raised a grand total of £54.40 for the annual charity extravaganza.
